Our client is a young, dynamic and progressive global financial organization with a high energy and innovative culture. They are seeking a Senior Legal Officer/Counsel who is looking to take their career to the next level in a dynamic financial services organization.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you are the Chief Legal Officer/Counsel in the Asia-Pacific region. Due to the expanding nature of the business, you will have the opportunity to work closely with your overseas counterparts (and external counsel where necessary) across a diverse and interesting range of legal matters.

These matters will be across all areas of their commercial operations, including (but not limited to): ASX rule compliance, technical advice to senior management, coordination with external counsel, provision of advice to Asian-based business units, negotiation of contracts, management of procedures & policies, proactive resolution of any legal disputes, close liaison with relevant Asia-Pacific exchanges and provision of regulatory advice to all levels of the company.

You will be a qualified lawyer with at least 5 years of experience and have a combination of private practice and in-house financial services experience.

Your strong regulatory background in financial services will includes experience with derivatives, securities, the Corporations Law and ASX rules and previous exposure to regulators and exchanges on legal matters.

Finally, you will have the ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external contacts across the business.
